I wrote this many many many years ago. Kind of the musings I have in my head. But I think its such a cute little interaction I wanted to share. So here. I hope you enjoy it 🙂
Conversations with Merlin by Siahdina McKnight (cir 2006)
Me: Hmmmm I want to be beautiful some day… Merlin? Make me so?
Merlin: Child, you are already so, Just look within yourself.
Me: But Merlin, I want to be the flower that is appreciated.The water that cleanses, and the wind that makes us feel renewed. I dont want to be the earth that is taken for granted. Beautiful and ugly. Cared for and hurt.
Merlin: You can be as you wish child. Just remember the cycle. The good with the bad. The beautiful with the Ugly. And keep with you always the kindness and truth that you already hold so dear.
Me: And if I do this merlin, Will truth be found everwhere? Will the shadows recede and the corrupt crumble to dust? For what I seek for myself. I wish for all the share.
Merlin: Only those who seek the truth, who seek things not just for thier own greed can be what you ask. Minds have been clouded since time has begun. It only takes one stone to make a ripple in the water that extends to the ends of the world. You child, could be that stone.
Me: But Merlin, I am only one person, I fear I am not strong enough to take this task. Will you not help me?
Merlin: I am helping you now child. Simple Conversation, and the ripples have begun. Be yourself, your true self, and never yield to things you do not agree with. Never compromise yourself.. And you will be more powerful than even i could ever be.
